The International Indian Film Academy Awards are coming to Canada in June and a sold-out crowd of more than 50,000 is expected to fill the Rogers Centre in Toronto to see Hindi cinema’s biggest celebs. Get ready for the event and brush up on all things Bollywood with Pyramid Productions’ Best of the IIFA Awards — four one-hour specials looking back at the IIFAs’ past ten years.
Best of the IIFA Awards is being filmed in Toronto during the first week of April. Hosts Veronica Chail and Mohit Rajhas will take viewers to some of the city’s most popular spots while introducing clips of the IIFAs’ “Hottest Leading Men”, “Top Dance Numbers”, “Most Glamorous Women” and “Greatest Moments”.
Regarded as the “Bollywood Oscars”, the IIFAs are one of the world’s most-watched entertainment spectacles, drawing nearly 600 million viewers each year. After visiting such exotic locales as Thailand, South Africa and Sri Lanka, this will be the first time the awards are held in North America. The festivities are expected to bring 40,000 visitors to the Greater Toronto Area.
Catch the Best of the IIFA Awards on OMNI and Citytv in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. Check your local listings for showtimes.
