Two series from Calgary-based Pyramid Productions, Man on a Mission and The Criminal Mind, have been picked up by American network Tuff TV — part of Luken Communications, a station group that reaches more than 77 million homes in the United States.
The broadcaster has licensed all 65 episodes of Man on a Mission, currently airing on The Cave in Canada, and all 26 episodes of The Criminal Mind, originally commissioned by Canadian Learning Television in Canada. Both shows will premiere in the States within the next few months.
Represented in the U.S. by distributor Thunderbird Films, Man on a Mission follows modern day playboy Matt Pierce (played by Matt Embry) as he faces a new and completely outrageous challenge in every episode. Enlisting top experts who help him rise to the occasion, Matt learns how to survive a knife fight, drive a tank, direct a rap video, try out for a professional football team and more!
Hosted by true crime writer Kirstie McLellan Day, The Criminal Mind delves into compelling headline-making cases, examines the psyches of the perpetrators and exposes the gritty details of their crimes. Distributor Breakthrough Entertainment completed the sale.
“We are very pleased with these latest sales,” says producer Larry Day. “Man on a Mission recently debuted on Men TV in Russia while The Criminal Mind has been successful on Crime and Investigation Network in Great Britain. Adding sales in the US is another step in our effort to build a worldwide audience for our various programs, which now sell in more than 70 countries.”
